random-ology

"...so, that's fate. if only i could turn back time. if only i had met him later. if only... what feeble words. these days, i am more circumspect. i have come to terms with my loss. there is nothing i can do about timing, but i can do everything about my choices.

sometimes, when the nights get lonely, i toy with the idea of marrying a platonic friend of mine, who often assures me earnestly that, if the worst comes to the worst, he'd be willing to marry me.

but i always dismiss that. i have already made one mistake. i should not make another by settling for second best merely for the sake of getting hitched - only to regret it soon after, as the guy who confided in me did. hopefully, the best is not over but yet to be."

this article titled "when mr right comes at the wrong time" was about the best thing to come out in the straits times in a long while. no more sumiko tan's whinings. no more pseudo-angsty mid life crisis kindda columns.

this article talked about the issue of timing in love and romance.

"timing is everything, even in love. and when you are not ready to commit, you could end up regretting it...sometimes, timing rather than love decides who we end up being with - or without."

i heard so many bells ringing in agreement in my mind.

this week has been again a massive blur. it's friday already. end of week 4. 2 more weeks to mid term break. and then all the deadlines will start to pour in. thank goodness for the chinese new year break next week. it's time i got all the magazine thing settled.

decisions. decisions. decisions.

when i am tired, my mind goes into overdrive thinking. this time, it's the issue of my major. i just found out that nus arts is going to start a journalism/media management major next academic year. i am tearing my head out whether to try it out, but it could mean me doing an extra semester or even an extra year.

but the usual yes-no ding-dong goes on in my mind. no because it's new. and please -- journalism in singapore? and if i had really wanted to, i would have gone to ntu.

yes. because i can't decide between sociology, politics or literature. so a journalism major is like a gif -- saving me the heartache of having to decide.

and the intro to english language is killing me. it took me 4 weeks to realise morphology is a study of morphemes. and don't get me started on how morphemes mean morphine jabs to me still. i am not too sure that putting myself through the torture of another linguistics module to complete an english minor is something i want to subject myself to anymore.

today was my first mugging session at law library. i need to do that more. i need to find time to do that more.

i shall end with this random quote i picked up from the straits times sometime in the last week -- hair is to men what breasts are to women.

tsk tsk.

have a great weekend.
