no freeloaders please

i didn't like yelling at her. yup. my errant sub editor who stood me up one hour before a scheduled interview on deepavali in school. who didn't attend consecutive management committee meetings. who couldn't make a scheduled interview after it was arranged -- she told me only after the interview was arranged that she was leaving for kuala lumper and expected it to be "responsibility" on her part. but my point is simply this -- i already told them that if you had plans to tell me during the planning and arrangement part. don't just come at me one week before the plan is to materialise and then tell me you can't make it and expect me to give you a smiley face. because if you don't turn up, the other editor must do more.

and really, if you think you got more pressing matters elsewhere. maybe you shouldn't be on this committee.

and honestly, i had no intention to backstab you. remember i am publications director and i am supposed to manage you. understand the hierarchy. don't expect me to help you cover up when i am accountable to the president.

my public relations skills may not be the most ideal, but some things just have to said the way it is. it's not about a matter of perspective here. it's about having some form of a common ground. and the common ground is your central perception of committment and responsibility.

or at the very least. ask yourself why you came onto the geographical society in the first place and what you are prepared to do to earn those points. i will not entertain free loaders.
