when it rains in my life, it doesn't just rain -- it rains cats and dogs. it pours. and it has to all come at me all at once.
i woke up today and was suddenly reminded that i forgot to remind my dad and mom not to iron my black zara shirt after washing it. i mean i have always told them not to iron my labelled clothings, but just this time i forgot, and they burnt a big hole in it. and it was the exact same shirt that i had to buy twice because the first had the exact same type of hole when i first bought it. which means it cost me 150 bucks. i don't understand why he must iron every single piece of my laundry -- even the clothes i wear at home! and my folks didn't ask me when they always know i usually make a lot of noise about my labelled clothings. and most of my labelled clothes are meant to be worn un-ironed. it's less work for them, but no -- they must iron with a vengeance.
and know what? this is not the first time already. the last time it was my bodyknits green stripped shirt. and i nearly flipped the ironing board at him. and he also burnt my mom's and my sister's linen stuff before. he says he wants to pay me back, but that's hardly the point. the money i used to buy are part pocket money and part my army allowances. i think i will send my laundry in batches to the dry cleaners from now on. i can't trust expensive clothes in my parents' prehistoric washing methods.
so many things going wrong for me on the eye of christmas eve.
i am now sitting in the library after i got stood up by a professor i was supposed to interview for geosphere. and i had to wake up so early just to be in school. yes. school during the holidays.
and don't get me started on my fight with the errant sub editor i had last night.
and i didn't get modules preallocated. which means i am royally screwed. no transport planning in singapore. no cyberarts. and they allocated more than half the available spaces. now my plans for next semester's workload is just going to screw me upside down. i may have to do japanese studies instead of south asian because south asian clashes with biodiversity -- which is what i have to take if i don't get transport. last semester living green starting bid was 600 points, i just pray it wouldn't be the same for transport.
and the small matter of whether to go to university of queensland for student exchange. thing is i really want to go to berkley or madison to check out post grad options. and if got time hop over to northwestern to check outthe journalism school. but i need to think about the money involved. and besides in brisbane, i have kelvin mok and jinghui to guide me along. but then again, on an exchange, i want to be left all alone to fend for myself and be able to make eccentric friends from poland, mexico, kenya or some far flung end of the earth in the student hostel i am living in. and i think this is only available in the states. the only thing about going to australia would be to be in school with my friends. not sure if it's worth all the trouble.
confused? yeah, i am also a bit lost. and super frustrated.
my results due this sunday. it's going to be a case of super whammy man. i can totally sense it.
