1. the B-minus for geography stuck out like a sore thumb. i thought i wouldn't fare any worse than a B-plus, but i had realistically expected an A-minus. what this did was essentially knocked the final nail into the coffin that contained any remaining hopes of majoring in geography. it also meant that i remain a B student for geography all my life -- b4 at O levels, B at A levels and now.
2. thank goodness i didn't do worse than the B-minus i expected for brain and cognition. the neuroscience module i had to do. but it also made me think about having to subject myself to 3 more science modules throughout my time in university if i stay on in USP. is it worth all the pain?
3. yet another unexpected A-grade for literature. it also happened the last time at A levels. i really don't think i deserved this grade, but really is God trying to tell me something here about my major?
4. B for soci is just about what i expected. always though B+ was about the highest i would get. but if this is going to be my major, then it has to be better than a B. i mean, this B could be explained because of the testing methodology and it being a super duper big intro class -- something like a thousand odd people did the exam.
5. should i try intro to political science in sem 2? for all it's worth, i am in two minds about trying another option out. because if i don't, i can just plunge straight into sociology modules. but then again, if i didn't, i would never know how i take to political science.
6. i can forget about first class honours already.
7. i need to really choose my modules more carefully and not wait till week 6 before getting down to serious work like sem 1 and not worry over nothing for 5 weeks.
and for posterity's sake, here's the full details of my less than ideal results for my first semester back in school.

CAP: 3.7
above all i guess i am thankful for God's intervention in all of this. honestly, it could have been worse. and pulling my CAP score up to a second upper level shouldn't be too difficult. at least it's not as un-doable as retracting some things i told some people over this christmas period.
