the best is yet already

every wedding should be like james-ailing's. the whole church wedding and chinese dinner just reeks of their personalities through and through. i don't about the others, but to myself and i am very sure to God, theirs was the perfect wedding.

i never felt so warm, fuzzy and so full of hope and joy. all the positive things just flood my entire being just seeing ailing walk down that aisle into the arms of james. the pensive moment before she emerged into the sanctuary with her dad giving her a reassuring nudge. that moment when ailing's hand in marriage is finally given to james. that oh-so-adorable picture of seth taken by jimmy. and little pris -- james' cousin -- and her rendition of he is good.

the whole wedding was done in a certain style and panache that only two creative and focused people like james and ailing can come up with. their months of planning and hard work have come to fruition. i thought the songs and word chosen were so perfect, so many people were touched in the process. they gave me hope by inviting us to share in the hope that they have in Jesus.

the overwhelming chinese theme in the wedding and at the dinner was a sure sign that they were not forgetting their roots. but the mix between the old and the modern was so good, it was like a very well blended ice mocha. traditional yet modern chic. i totally loved it.

kelvin's oh-so-sincere song for ailing at the dinner. the first wedding i attended with a specific thematic dress code -- all things chenna, was a blast to say the least. they chosen a place quite reowned for their good food -- merchant court hotel. and the dinner was cosy, nice and extremely platable. the company excellent. the family ties between the moks so evident in the coordination and planning and organisation of this event. i want my wedding to be like that too.

people say it's so special to me because i know ailing relatively well. and i am quite close to her. but it can't escape the fact that this was a wedding so special, so thoughtfully planned out, so stylish, so in God's light, so perfect a fusion of East-West elements that our very society is a melting pot of. it was in every sense of the word, excellent.

and i felt so peaceful and glad and relieved that they were finally man and wife. really. from the bottom of my heart. my de-facto god sister who never fails to knock sense into me. she and i hardly talk that often, but when we do, it's like we've never really quite stopped keeping in touch. her greatest gift to me is her uncanny ability to tear away all the deception to point me to the way, the truth and the light. sometimes the truth is just before me but i am just so blind to it all. she in a way compensates for my lack of a proper male mentor.

thank you ailing. thank you james. for blessing me and many others with your wedding. this wedding. i am so sure the best is yet already. =)
