why can't we understand that nothing has changed

before clubbing was invented, there was going to fat frog's on friday and saturday nights just to listen to one fat guy sing. that fat guy makes the guitar sound like a one-man band. for a few hours at an end, he leaves an indelible imprint on your psychological consciousness. we get our weekly fix of musical melancholy.

i last heard han jin played to a rapturous crowd at fat frog's cafe at the substation 2 years ago. i distinctly remembered mugging like mad for 5 and a half days a week for my A levels. and after that heading down to fat frog's to chill on saturday nights was about one of the things i would do. and hearing his two compositions, believe and something i couldn't give makes me feel so much better each time.

last night, for the first time since then, it was like old times. fat frog's has not changed a single bit during this time. but how people and other things have moved on. like how the apple crumble tastes ordinary now when it used to taste so much better. and how the diet coke is now a stinky 6 bucks when it was 4 back then. stunk back then, just that it stinks more now.

how i wished some things would never change. but on hindsight, if things didn't change, they wouldn't be the way they are today. and i would be still stuck in the massive rut i was in. yesterday was all about realising how far i have come since then. and remembering what i have lost and gained as a person since.

now for the album that han jin promised 3 years ago that it would be due soon. right.
