the worst sunday ever
i am getting very absent minded of late. i NEVER used to lose things. now in a space of 2 months, i lost 2 things. the roll of used film i lost on my first visit to a karoke lounge. and now of all things. my biblical note book. a book where i wrote all my sermon notes and things that God impressed upon me.
and i lost the book on saturday night. at redbricks. where we had dinner. and after kelvin like taught me some thing on discipleship. and after a invigorating sermon by pastor daniel at saturday evening service. and after all the prayer meetings we had last few weeks.
it was all so busy. just when i am about to settle down and reflect on those thoughts. i had to lose all of them. and i only realised it on sunday morning at service. i left after worship. went around like a mad dog. back home and then to red bricks. the uncle there told me he gave my book to some guy who was a regular at the karoke at the rc from across the road, and was on a post-karoke session drinking session. i think it's inane that he didn't just leave it at the counter. that the person he gave my book to just took my book even though he knew it wasn't his. either he was drunk or he's really dumb.
but thing is. i really lost it yesterday. i was so flustered. so into my situation. that i couldn't think straight until ailing came to me and told me to not to let the evil one have a hold on me. precisely we are trying to do something for God that the evil one would want to come and derail us. and to do that, that damn idiot hit me where it hurt most. my bible note book and someone not coming to church.
but i focused after that. things didn't go too well at our first cell meeting after the restructuring. but it's ok i guess. all in God's hands. had a debrief after that. will learn from mistakes.
am so glad so many people turned up at the soccer session which i took so much pain to organise. in fact, if i didn't take the book out to record the names of the people i called for soccer, i probably wouldn't have lost it. but it's all for a good cause i reckon. went back to redbricks in the evening to speak to the people there. and left my number there. for them to call me once they see the guy whom they gave my book to.
i don't harbour much hope of getting the book back. but nothing will dampen my excitement that is tinged by the sense of realism -- that while it's exciting, it's also gonna be tough.
it's going to be a busy year. but that's the way i like it.
