four hundred days. four hundred dollars.
that's the number of days before i finally leave the military service. it's a far way off considering the fact that people like brian, jimmy, napks dude and weikang haven't left yet. and i am exactly 1 year after them. gee. a tremendous morale booster huh?
anyway, the mess which i thought i created while being duty officer on saturday turned out not to be such a great deal after all. hmm. was quite productive at work today. finally got down to finish the manpower planning for the coming training frame i have been putting off since two weeks ago. all this while angie and gang were busy shopping in town. sigh. i can't wait to get my pink identity card.
i feel i am leading double lives. at work -- i am like a zombie, leading a routine that i feel no affinity for and can't wait to get out. people say i got a great deal -- with my camp located right so near home. but with the type and amount of work i do, i say i am way underpaid and underappreciated. then after work, then i really start living. doing my stuff, going to church, meeting friends and trying to play the guitar. i feel human again.
my personal assistant was just remarking how my complexion has deteriorated since i came into my new place. i took a close look today -- yeah, my face sure looks quite bad. like it's on the verge of a pimple outbreak. i mean, it never looked like that before. stress sure has its different hybrids.
and then there's just the trivial matter of my overspending. i am supposed to have saved a thousand dollars by now. but i only have four hundred. i seriously need to do some big time financial planning and exercise lots more financial discipline. and oh, i really have to stop hoarding every book i think i should buy. because there is a backlog od about 15 books i have bought on impulse. because i think i don't read all that i buy. and maybe start buying other things like clothes instead? *LOL*
