The Singular Lousy Bluff

Words by Clement Tan

It wasn't anything else
other than That that made it unforgettable.
It was Thy golden foolish touch
Teasing, Tentalising and Traumatising
all metaphorically at once.
A potent cacophony -
So forbidden, yet in high demand.

Didn't really matter
if the reason was flawed.
Flawed because you remembered
and you bloody grinned.
Because happiness is but a deluded reality.

The metaphysicality about reality
is rationality par excellence
And an exercise in a reality rooted only in thy figment.
Dangerous yet exciting.
It thrills and excites behind the cloak
and The veil of propriety.

Hankering after utopia on both sides,
is balancing duality possible at all?

Or is it a mere bluff,
An utterly lousy one at that,
and one not worth one's while.

Such aches of modernity.
