just got back from an excellent dinner at brian's. he's going back to perth thursday for the new academic year. it has been a long while since we last tasted brian's mom's cooking and auntie janette whipped up a storm as usual. there was the lamb leg, roasted chicken, pasta, mistrone soup and baked brocolli with sweet potato and carrots.
and then we watched brian's short film project for school. the production's quality awesome -- i especially like the colours. it's so rich and the film has a real indie feel about it. well, the bar's been set for me. my very own video art project is going to start production next week.
then there was the company. talked to one of brian's murdoch mates who was at the dinner too. just nice talking about our aspirations in the media and such. i just hope to do my journalistic thing for a while at least when i graduate. but first up, i need to secure an internship.
it's going to be a long week. it's the mid term break next week. deadlines all looming. i can feel the stress and tension. and everybody's been getting sick around me in school. i hope i don't fall sick anytime soon. ugh.
in the random thing of the day, it's really amazing what a casual friendster run-through can do. i chanced upon my fairfield juniors' profile and i just thought i will just say hi and check on how's he coping in ocs. turns out when i sms-ed last night, he was 2 hours from the airport to brunei for his jungle confidence course. talk about good timing.
anyway, he asked me the usual questions about brunei. it was nice just catching up with him. he asked me about the state of the econs dept in nus -- that one i told him, come back to singapore, got all the time in the world for me to talk to him about. i ended the 30-minute chat with him by telling him that he could call me anytime he wanted from brunei if he needed anyone who has been through the same thing to talk about stuff. coz i had weikang to talk to when i was down and out all those years ago, thought i just pass the good deed on.
lovely. now for bed. my eyelids are closing on me already.
