the ecstatic dip

a dip in the high life
ill-advised, not good.
yet when the thin grey line was exceeded
it felt exceedingly good.

only sight and imagination permitted
action was restrained
because the mind knew better
than to engage in something that would
stumble, stagnate and saunter to the hellish depths.

wished there was no care in the world
that could bogged me down
but those lasting images and vivid pain
those people around, the entire life
flashed past him.

he gritted his teeth.
this was as far as he could muster.
time to go away from the known unknown.

to fly away.
