money
my dad just got news he's going to be retrenched come the new year. the first thing that came to my mind was that i had to cancel my brisbane trip. next up, was whether i could still start local uni in august next year and then it was whether my folks had enough to finish the payment for our apartment.
talking to morgan helped loads. he made me see things from a totally different perspective. dan tham recalled how i made a decision to start saving up a few months back. now on hindsight, i realised what that was all for. it could potentially help me cope with the financial set back. and wiping it all off with a trip to brisbane that is a luxury would be unwise to say the least.
it also made me realise that GOD was just teaching me something on money and all things monetary. i haven't been able to tithe or give to offering for a long time now. and i used to have no qualms in treating people to drinks on a night out to zouk or breeko's. i used to not bat an eyelid when it came to buying people gifts.
but now i do. because since i started saving, my demand far outstripped supply. so i have had to be more anal when it comes to cash. i think people who i hang around with more would have unconsciously noticed this subtle change in my attitudes towards money. i used to hate having to be so anal abt cash and all, but i realise that i have had to be more disciplined with my attitudes towards management of funds. that not minding too much about money is also being careless with money.
thank GOD for teaching me so early. for going ahead of my situation and impressing upon me the need to save early on. thank GOD for daniel tham for opening my eyes to GOD's intent and purpose.
now for the minute task of having to cope with the situation. to not whine and mop around. but to sit down and work out a plan. to cope.
