have a blessed christmas
hey there. i just recovered from the rigours of the celebration for christmas. this christmas is tinged with sadness, gladness and gratitude all combined.
i blew 400 dollars shopping on the eve of christmas eve. met jinghui for lunch for good measure. i walked till my legs were sore. bought a top and a berms from fourskin. a shiny top from domenici at bugis -- some unknown brand -- that i wore for the eve service in church. and a coloured top from u2 which i realised i have already only after i bought it.
saw a doctor for my influenza as well. that visit cost me 50 bucks coz i asked for the 5-dollar-a-pill antibiotic klacid. the throat's been bugging me for the last 3 weeks. i just had to get rid of the irritance for once and for all.
23rd december also saw the ntu and nus cells having a party at sue-anne's. smashin'. finally got to know who oriana is after all the correspondence on the heartbeat media team thingey. it was a kewl time. ate. played taboo. and just chilled over non-alcoholic drinks. vincent couldn't stop raving about how kewl lao pok's place is. we said we had to come back on christmas eve after service.
24th. afternoon. lunch at crystal jade holland village. with vincent, brian, angie, beks, dan lin, morgan, locke, adrian, hua hui, jeanette and mark. then wasted some time when i should have really just gone home straight and started on my reduced card list this year.
my card list for the last 3 years have hit like 120 or thereabouts. this year i decided i should half this amount. and put in more effort into what i write. i ended up writing mini essays for most people. and i am confident no two cards sound exactly the same this time round. i mean while everyone could do with a new pda, a new pair of prada shoes or a gucci wallet, thoughts from friends. just priceless.
anyway, i started on my first card only at 4pm. other than a 15 break for dinner, i was rushing through my cards while trying to maintain my stand on exclusivity. i gave up trying. because mark was waiting downstairs for me to drive me to church. by the time i left home at 9.45pm, i still have got 16 cards left. which i basically finished during the course of christmas eve service. not very right i know. but i did not have much of a choice.
after service, we adjourned to sue-anne's again after much deliberation -- much to the disappointment of rachel mok. since it means we wouldn't be heading for ailing's place. but on hindsight, maybe ailing's would have been better. i learnt so much about people the whole of last night. i just wished i wasn't there. it was something i couldn't keep.
