the thin red line

someone decides to get a tattoo and some part of his body other than his ear lobs pierced what do we say to him?

oh its ok as long as we know what we are doing. because at this age, we are more than capable of deciding whats right for our lives..

right. whatever happened to God knowing best? when has my faith become such a selfish one?

i know i am threading the thin red line between judgement and concern here, but when we just know its not right to be doing such things, do we just shut up? sometimes being nice and not asserting whats true is tantamount to tacid approval.

i am exploding right here. the myriad of thoughts. i am not perfect. i have no grounds for feeling as such. But i do know my heart weighs heavily. you may not see it, but here i am trying my darnest to live my life as God wants it to be, and there people are condoning things like that.

pastor daniel said a couple of weeks ago that we are all going to held accountable for the people around us whether have we made decent attempts at not tripping the person next to you with our deeds and words, whether have we informed the brother/sister next to you of the implications of such a deed because simply, ignorance is not an excuse for sin.

does not giving him shit about his life and not judging him mean we are giving him the wrong signals? that it is ok to tattoo the temple of God that is our bodies and pierce our lips just coz its a (fill in your name) thing?

doesnt anyone see the wider implication of his actions? why does he even want to do such a thing? to make a statement? against what at that? why dont people care enough to sit him down and probe why? so that he knows what hes getting himself into with his eyes wide open? and i mean to really probe not to judge him, but because you love him so much, you want his decision to be as informed as it can possibly be.

by leaving him alone to make decisions, is it loving him?

on the flip side, just like Christ gave us the choice to believe in Him. we should let him be. let him make the choice. if even God gave us the choice, so who are we to judge him and deprive him of the choice?
