weekend blast
i knew it was God again. this whole weekend. God was just telling me to obey. to obey to be healed. somehow i was relying on my own strength. somehow i wasn't willing to totally let go. let Him take control. the burden. was really about the things i should be doing as part of the change that i should effect on my life. many life-changing measures i would have to make in the small details in my life.
went to zouk two nights in a row this weekend. i specially took friday off so that i could chill. and of course, hang out with brian and gang before he leaves for perth thursday. it was a big mistake hitting zouk two nights in a row. coz i am not your proverbial cheongster. my cheong-ometer was depleted on friday. couldn't sustain the mood on saturday when the music was definitely much better on the zouk floor than on friday.
i mean. i did other things too. like meeting up with weikang for lunch and collecting my sword case at the same time. like buying vincent a 'start-school-again' gift on impulse when i remembered how we had pooled cash to buy brian his. and then realising that i toally blew a hole in my pocket. heh.
like meeting kelvin to just eat dinner and just stone at taka in the evening before i went to zouk. like meeting marcus over dinner on saturday and catching up with him and his naval diving exploits.
but i choose to think that mr gillette is right when he said that even in nightclubs, the Holy Spirit will always be with me. the sermon on Sunday was simply astounding. mr gillette talked about how we often restrict the power of God when we only allow Him to work withuin perimeters that we set for Him. unless we desire to open ourselves totally to Him, we cannot expect Him to Lord over our lives. and there will be no geunine breakthrough. his last line -- do you fear loneliness or do you fear God more? -- just totally blew me away. it encapusulated what the entire weekend was all about.
i was brought to a high on friday. and then to a classic low on saturday. it was so violatile. i can't understand it sometimes. but then again when has our finite-ness been ever enough for infinite God? a lesson learnt yet again i guess.
