fought the good fight, walked the good walk...

today's Gerald Ho's 3rd death anniversary. as i thought of what happened 3 years ago on this fateful day and the days that followed, i'm glad to say i no longer feel so plagued by the why's and what's of his passing. that does not mean i have fully accepted the reality that has dawned upon me way too soon. but then again when has death been expected.

i still sometimes wonder what would he be doing now had he not decided to pace his friend after having finished his own 2.4km run. maybe i would still play in the right back position without that sense of disorientation i get whenever i do not see him to my left. maybe he would really honour what he said -- that i could always count on a friend in him in whatever circumstances. such chivalry, such olde world values. so comforting. so reassuring. alas. good things come in small packages.

hope all who know him and are reading this blog take some time to remember him.

amen
