i am totally distraught. david yeo is eliminated from the singapore idol competition.
after the best show yet in the series -- i mean it wasn't all that fantastic, but considering how bad the production was in previous shows, the 50's-60's them this week was just show man stuff. and i felt every one tried to upp their performance ante. but each to varying degrees of success.
the usual suspect jerry ong -- he's just plain bad. i am not too sure if it's God hand that is keeping him in the competition or the organisers' meddlesome hands. christopher just progressively sounds worse even as he looks better each week. will someone please tell him that a pretty face will only bring him so far in a singing competition. at this rate, he will be next, not jerry ong. blah!
first nana didn't get through to the final 12. then jessea gets knocked out. now david. and jerry is still there.
not that i blame him. i smell a conspiracy. the winner has long been fixed. look at how feeble mediacorp tried to be "transparent" about the vote counting process. their explanation in the papers a week or two ago generated more questions than answers in my mind.
it's all getting a bit mundane. just as john stevens overstayed his time on american idol 3, jerry ong is the producer's audience trumpcard -- to get people all flustered so to get them to keep watching and keep trying to vote jerry ong off.
david yeo is the next unwittingly victim. david -- the one with the most heart and arguably the most teachable of the lot. he showed a willingness to adapt. maybe he's better off finishing off law school first.
and jerry wasn't even in the bottom 2. incredible.
will the real singapore idol please stand up?
