ramblings
the singular thing that bothered me the past week was how chaotic the world is becoming. first, the mother who jumped off a block of flats at chin swee road with her two young daughters -- near where i used to live. it's heart wrenching seeing their lifeless bodies being carried. what problem can possibly be so big that it clouded the mother's judgement. could it be her husband? or an insensitive world at large.
the thailand bombings. that proceeded after the madrid. the bali blasts. and that day of infamy on that fateful day in september of 2001. it gripped me. because things are happening so near. it's getting nearer. and nearer. and i felt scared for once. maybe the fact that i was duty officer when this happened excebated that shit-in-my-pants feeling.
the elections in taiwan. and malaysia. especially in taiwan. the travesty that is the political scene there. those people there. the way they protest. don't they have day jobs to tend to? on a lighter note, am so glad badawi won by a landslide. was disappointed barisan nasional did not take kelantan. but all's well. better than nothing. now i hope he walks the talk.
and the realisation that i may have lost my ability to write well. i never used to make gross grammatical mistakes. but as you would have probably read, they are all over the place -- even as i write. and i am back to my meandering ways. long winded and off the point. arguments and points not cogent enough. language too bombastic. ugh.
am i not good enough for the university scholars programme at nus?
