the day it rained all day
just started on the book the gratitude attitude by david and lo-anne trembley. it is sub-titled a joyful christian's guide to living more richly with less.
think it's highly apt i read this book. it's on a daily devotional basis, but i am going to read it like a book with a Bible in tow. i read the first three entries. and they all never failed to put a smile on my face. the snippets of reality the authors portray reflect simple and poignant truths -- bringing forth a perspective that just reeks off...gratitude. i need to be thankful. joy that emanates from my faith.
just got off a long phone call with shi'en. shi'en is a friend i had since sec one. we do not normally talk often, but when i do call her, we talk for like hours. think our record was 6 hours? but that was after like 6 months? it's like we don't see each other for 3 -- 6 months at one stretch, but when we do talk or meet, it's like big time catching up. the best thing about this friendship is that we can just take it from where we last left it. priceless.
then i called andrew. that guy just got his prelims results back and he's rather upset. no intricate details here, but talked to him a little. and listened. a little bro' who never fails to make me laugh so bad at his antics. nice.
today at work was quite disorienting. as with all mondays. planned my week. and realised i have got tonnes waiting. as usual. but i feel so light today. that's different.
today also marks the start of a new series on this blog -- the a-thank-you-a-day-keeps-the-demons-at-bay series.
on today's edition, thank GOD for the wonderful rain. yes, my friend who just went outfield today would be digging trenches in the rain with unmotivated NS men as their make-shift platoon commander, would totally hammer me for saying this. but where i was in my office, thank GOD for the rain -- it made my start to the week nice and cold. plus it helped that the two devil incarnates were not in the office today. so there was peace.
