home alone on a weekday
today' day two of enforced rest. my head's still in quite a mire. i don't usually open the door when someone knocks on the door. someone i don't know. somehow this time when i saw two harmless middle-aged ladies outside throught the small peep-hole, i thought i'll be nice for once.
they turned out to be jehovah's witnesses doing door-to-door evangelism. the lady called pearl asked me if i am a christian. i promptly replied. she asked if i have heard of them. i told them i studied them and the mormons because "we were dealing with the different denominations". i din have the courage to tell her tha i studied them in baptism class because they were considered cults. i din want to be antagonistic. so i said to me, as long as any faith is based purely on the Bible, i am ok with it. i should have told her right in the face. to just wake up and stop deluding herself. she asked for my name. i thought of giving her a fake name. but i didn't. come to think of it, i was being cryptic, she sounded as though she knew where i was coming from. coz she started rambling on and on how she turned her back on catholicsm and to witnessing. i couldn't care less. but i still smiled and nodded all the same. it was as if she was trying to justify her choice to me. i couldn't really care less. i just wanted to be nice. i din know how best to deal with her.
perhaps. this was a door i should not have opened.
